  • idk if you know but there's an easier way to lock into the calf crush

  • I love BJJ although every time I watch a match or an MMA bout and see a move like this my knee automatically dislocates! :)

  • Very nice! I think the Kamikaze part is that you grab the leg you are grapevining before you roll instead of the opposite leg.

  • that is a twister technique.

  • Thats good. I thought you were going for a twister type technique. This is an awesome alternative.

  • @jwoo710 it is and i use it often. when i learned it the instructor called it 'the backpack'. the only difference between going for the calf crank and the backpack is that you ditch the leg halfway through your roll and extend your legs. this brings your opponent right into your rear mount.

usually my opponents are good at defending the omoplata and never turtle, so this is my go-to if i'm trying to take the back.

  • Works extremely well if they all the way up on the hands and knees and you manage to put one hook. In 90% they'll either hold still and defend the other hook or try to roll under you. If you roll faster than they do (which you should) you end up in that position and ready to crank. This is my bread'n'butter against better higher belts.

  • if anybody sees this pm me, but don't you think that it seems a very viable option to pull this right out of a leg ride, especially if you already have them broken down, with the leg still in?
