@sonarrat if you've identified so much with the music, thank Schubert, who wrote such a wonderful piece which matched with your own self so wonderfully, and thank Richter, who was able to realize the conception from a few pages of sheet music perfectly enough to allow it to speak through him.
After listening to Richter's entire performance, I am filled with an indescribable inner peace. It was like having a long and meaningful conversation with myself.
similar to the late sonata in g major richter chooses a real slow tempo so this c major sonata.but contrary to many other pianist it doesnt disturb at all, because he never looses the tension and the certain sostenuto when he plays schubert.
very interesting is,similar to bernstein in conducting the older he was the slower were the tempi as though he couldnt really separate from the tone or sound he is going to play at the moment and capture him even for evermore.
Thank you so much for posting it.I like very much the spaciousness of the opening minutes. He plays the spaces here quite well and unusually eshcews constructing long lines.I thought that halfway between the first and second minute he really couldn't find anything good that interested him.But a minute later as we go to minor he seemed to find an interesting and poignant place again.I feel that this movement was outside of his emotional realm personally but he struggled nobly to some success.

Thank you very much for transmitting and spreading Richter's legacy. Have you got any information about the recording? (venue, date etc.?)
