    I too have always loved this anthem since I bought it on vinyl over 60 years ago. The theme - that however bleak one's life "the desert shall blossom as a rose" - is so powerful. It's just a shame that it's hardly ever heard now, not because of lack of soloists but because it makes the service too long. Sad reflection.
