This is the second session of the Operation Family Nutrition Project conducted in Mangga,Sugbongcogon,Misamis Oriental. It was attended by 60 mothers. You will notice that the mothers actively participated in the said activity. It was conducted at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon. In the Philippines, this is an unholy hour for lectures since most Filipinos are used to spend this time of the day for an afternoon nap (SIESTA Time)The project intends to educate the mothers regarding family health, maternal and child nutrition. We aim for the reduction of children malnutrition, and reduction of morbidity in children brought about by diarrhea, pneumonia, and measles by imparting to the mother correct health and nutrition information. The health and nutrition information is imparted to the mothers through the use of soap opera shown in television set,Filipino mothers loved to watch soap opera so much. This is followed by a question and answer portion to expound and deepen the information. In this part the health educator is able to insert some added info that would enhance the learning process. It is then followed by a game, in this part the health educator measure the level of understanding of the mothers.I invite you to watch this video and experience for yourself how learning can be made fun.
