@quiklearnr You're missing the point. Islam has never argued that it is bringing an entirely "new" message. But a continuation of a message as old and humanity. The argument put forth by the Quran is that humanity has distorted the message sent to each tribe in their own language and the Quran was sent to address these distortions.

Allah is actually a contraction of al (the) ilah (deity). It's a title for the singular nature of God, not a name.

To answer quiklearnr. To be a muslim you have to accept that there is NO god other than allah, believe in all the angels, believe in all the holy books (quran, bible, torah, and all the books of the prophets), believe in all the prophets, believe in the day of judgement and the destiny bad and good one. Thats islam. What I said before is what evry prophet had asked his people to do starting from Adam (pbuh) who was a messenger from god to his decendent and ending by the prophet Mohammed (pbuh).
