After "headstarting" this terp over the winter (2009/2010), I finally let him go into the wild. I found him on the shore of Baltimore's Inner Harbor in October, with half of his shell depressed. When they're young, their shells are soft, so after a couple weeks, it grew back to the right shape. I'm guessing he's about 9 months old at the time of this filming, and the shell is about the size of an adult man's palm.

  • I found him injured on a shore in Maryland. Terrapins live up and down the east coast, and in the Gulf of Mexico.
