Former Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung offers a preview of his upcoming theatre work the Hunchback of Notre Dame, premering in May of 2008 at the Bailiwick Theatre in Chicago.
Lovely! I'm so glad, too, that Dennis regards the book as Claude's story , above all (Theatermania interview). And this young singer will be very good in the role.
i have such conflicts. i really loved this performance, but i have been waiting years for the menken and schwartz version of hunchback to go to broadway. i guess they both could, like the wild party
This is an attempt to attract readers to see the musical, but the name DENNIS DE YOUNG alone should be enough. It is a beautiful, magical adaptation of the universal theme of human struggles in the society and from within, and of finding love in the most mysterious form. I hope for only the best for this musical -- it would be a HUGE shame not to have this on a worldwide stage like its sister, Les Miserables, but for what it's worth, there's always a hundred years from now, right Dennis?
His name is Jeremy Rill. He played Satan in the Bailiwick's American Premiere production of Jerry Springer the Opera. He is doing Cole Porter's Can-Can right now at Circle Theatre. Search under his name on YouTube and there is a video from Jerry Springer...he is really good!

I went to Chicago a month ago to see this. It was amazing! The actors were so inspiring to me, and the music was beautiful. I loved it.
