Lidia Bastianich visits OLL!

Our Lady of Lourdes School's lower grades have been studying Italian this academic year through a generous grant from the Italian American Committee on Education (IACE). Yesterday, IACE showered yet another exciting treat upon OLL: a presentation by chef, best-telling author, television host and restaurateur Lidia Bastianich! This delightful enrcihment event opened with the kids welcoming Ms. Bastianich in thier favorite fashion--with two italian songs. They then flaunted their newly acquired Italian language skills and knowledge of Italian culture by asking her various questions in Italian. She answered each question in great detail and ulitmately treated an auditorium filled with curious students, guests from IACE (including the Deputy Counselor of Italy, IACE's President, and the wife of the Counselor General of Italy) with a reading of her latest children's book "Nona, Tell Me a Story."
