Idling in the driveway, and going a few blocks. Tach does not work great, have to whack the dash for it to come on. Quite redneck but it does the trick!

  • it depends on the CI of the motor anything above 400 u should be ok it just hurts the backpressure witch hurts about 10-30 horses

  • Actually the open headers give you more HP they cut back on torque. unfortunately with exhaust there's never a perfect world you have to give somewhere to gain, just have to figure out the balance that suits you.

  • Um, no, the lifters have nothing to do with it???? Open headers will not hurt anything at all there is way more than enough tubing between the exhaust valves and the open air that they would be perfectly save, plus the collector has four pulses coming through it really hard for air to back up through that. If open headers were detrimental then dragsters with zoomies would be impossible.....

  • I miss mine when it was like that. Although mina was louder for some reason. Prob just hard to hear the roar through a video. Low end sucked but top end power was great. It did drive a bit rough so I put exhaust on after two weeeks. nice vid man.

  • @Devildodge69 it just moves your power band around now with a stock cam it can hurt alot but if the motor is built to rev to 8 or 9 it will help way more

  • Good thing all the neighbors had some shitty old cars. Can you imagine if those were all fitted with car alarms? We wouldnt even be able to hear the open headers lol. I tried this im my 2005 nissan titan, my cousin and I drove around 4pm down the busiest street. Very bad looks from everyone on the road,

  • actually the kid is right open headers may not bend valves but running a motor just bare block with absolutely 0 exhaust when the exhaust gases push out they create a vacuam that will draw air in and that cold air hiting your extremely hot valves can bend them doesnt happen on dragsters because a: its not a common problem, they are rebuilt frequently, and headers are still enough exhaust to cut the chances of this happening and B: they idle at a shit ton of rpms usually

  • Fuck yeah, I had a 99' 1500 318 that sounded so badass when I took the muffler off and left it bare. I couldn't help put punch it every time I got to a stop sign lol I miss that thing
