@EveOfTomorrow what an ugly response. This guy was so courageous for going on this show...and I'm pretty sure he knew he wouldn't live to the end of the century.
Stephen Stucker showed amazing courage on this show, at a time when other celebrities were dying in total silence and seclusion.
Meanwhile, the federal government's silence and inertia enabled fearmongering among irresponsible churches and media -- the sources of much of the hate seen here.
How much has changed since then? Now there is rampant paranoia about Muslims and black presidents -- and U.S. evangelists are still promoting murderous antigay paranoia across central Africa.
This talk show was so important. Donahue wasn't afraid to tackle any subject. And he did it in a way that allowed all viewpoints and steering them towards some kind of reasonable middle-ground.
Steven made an excellent point, saying that woman was not going to catch AIDS from him, he wasn't being cavalier. It's incredibly unlikely for a person who doesn't have anal sex and doesn't share needles to ever catch AIDS.
Just shows the stupidity of this nation, they'll believe any dumbass fucking rumor you spread...oh, did you know you can get herpes from a toilet seat?
