*SOLVED* Help! Problem extracting subtitles from mkv/anime

Youtube, I need your help. I can't extract the subtitles properly from this mkv or anime i just downloaded so i need you help so i can put this onto a dvd. This never happened to me before. if you have a suggestion please leave it on the comments. Thanks!

@PeterTechGuy The subtitles are soft coded which means that they're separate with the video. If I tried converting the video, there's no subtitles. It's either that or I download Clannad again in avi with my crappy internet speed

i wish all of those soft subtitles would go away. the hard subtitles were left unseeded. when they're played as MKV files, the subtitles overlap each other because clannad uses dual subtitles for backround talking... i dont have money to buy the DVDs right now unfortunately...

Have you tried opening up the file in a subtitle editor like subtitle workshop. I'm assuming the subtitle play properly through your pc i.e. VLC or chichever player you use
