Some commercials are just soooo sixties. I just been informed that The Tokens are the ones singing the jingle. For more 60's spots visit us at http://www.vintagetvcommercials.com

  • The chocolate version had a slightly malty taste to it which I loved. I remember walking home from school for lunch and getting one of these with a chicken salad sandwich. MMmmmmmm! Then they had to screw it all up by taking cyclamates off the market. The sixties ended for me right there!

  • Haha, this is still being shown in the UK!

  • 65kowalkski: It is "Go to the store and get Great Shakes."

  • tonybklyn: I'm in my mid-50's too: 54 to be exact Come to think of it: I may or may not even remember this commercial; even though it was on back in the 60's. I probably forgot about this commercial.

  • @nanlisa Nope, would be 60's or 70's now...I'm in my mid 50's and I was a kid when that commercial ran on TV

  • @lrd9999 I remember Keith from ABC-TV's "Where The Action Is" (1965-67), and I saw him perform that song on that show in late-December of '66.

  • @1985OldSkool They also backed up James Barry Keefer (Keith) on his 1966 hit "98.6".

  • I think I still have a couple of the shakers!

  • I remember watching my big brother make a Great Shake in the plastic tumbler and one day he did not put the lid on properly and he got chocolate shake all over the kitchen and did my mother yell at him!

  • This video just cleared up an error in my memory soundtrack. For 45 years or so, I remembered the lyrics as ". . .Open the door and get- - -Great Shakes!" I guess ". .Go to the store" makes a bit more sense.

I remember the Great Shakes mixing cup drying among the plates, glasses and silverware in Mom's dish rack. They were awesome with a couple of Space Food Sticks as a snack!

  • WOW, I remember this product, I would haunt my mom to buy it for me whenever she took me to the Pioneer supermarket on Bleeker st. in NYC. Can't believe there is a sight for this, brings back great memories.

  • @samwisethree no way lol
