This is an updated version of the soundtrack I wrote and originally posted a while back. The audio is now improved and I have also added pictures. I think that this is a better version!

Any feedback is certainly welcome.

If some people like this then I may even work on another piece (oh lucky you!). Enjoy!

Disclaimer: The updated soundtrack is copyright 2011 and I am the sole owner. If anyone would like a copy then, of course, please let me know. No unauthorised distributing is permitted.

However I do not hold, and do not claim to hold, any rights whatsoever to the pictures included.

I am not American and I have no affiliation in any form with either any Native American people nor the US Army. This video is designed to remember those, on all sides, who lost their lives during the colonisation of North America.

  • Go back and work on your instruments. The tail of the instruments, expecially the lower pitch ones, isn't right. Real instruments don't cut off like that. It also comes across as a flat room -- there is no echo -- no ambiance.

In terms of composition, however I like it. Keep working on it.

  • @sgbotsford Hi sgbotsford. Thank you very much for the feedback. I was certainly concentrating a lot more on the actual composition than the effects. I have vast amounts still to learn regarding achieving the right overall sound, which I readily admit to! :) I appreciate that this is a vital part of any music production that I must strive to improve on. At the time the composition itself was very much my priority and I thank you for your words.

  • did you just do this on a synthesizer, or is this really with live musicians performing your composition? Or did you just cut, paste, and remix different audio tracks?

  • @nladisha Hi nladisha! Thank you very much for the comment/question.

The music is created by using samples of the actual instruments. I manually scored (wrote) all the notes, using music software, and then used samples of instruments during the playback. It's all computer based! :)

It would be awesome to be able to write something for live musicians though. Maybe one day! :)

  • Really great it would be so easy to fall into typical western cliches but your music avoids them and has a great powerful melody that sticks in the head .

Id love just for the hell of it to see you try something in the Morricone /Nicolai style .

  • @katakauchi I much appreciate your feedback. Yes, that would be interesting and fun. Perhaps I might give that a go some time. :)
