"change in government" always ends up meaning larger government. And you just said it was not an economic ideology, and in the same breath you said progressives are for a mixed economy. A "mixed" economy is one where government plays a bigger role in regulating money and commerce.....how is that not socialism? Socialism, communism, modern day liberalism, progressivism....they are all different words invented by the left to describe the same thing....big government.

@ObscurosLive Progressivism is an ideology that represents change in government and reform. It has nothing to do with expansion of government, which is generally socialism (this is what you are describing). Progressive parties want proportional representation, alternative voting, ect. It is not an economic ideology. Economic progressivism supports a mixed economy, so you cannot be refering to that either.

progressives is just a term that was invented in the late 1800's by teddy rooselvelt. He felt that government control was imperative because people were just too dumb to make decisions for themselves. Starting with woodrow wilson progressive government officials began expanding government to control the value of our money, what type of businesses we can have, even down to how we should live. And the united states is not a democracy, it is a republic. Its a big distinction.

who is it that is following biased bullshit? It sure seems to be you. America thrived without progressives for over 100 years, and we will thrive without them. If it was up to progressives we would have no democracy. We would have state control of everything and destroy our individual freedoms. If the constitution and the declaration of independence are biased bullshit, then you dont really know what progressives are.
