The 1680 Arp Schnitger organ located in Cappel, Germany is considered one of the most well preserved and authentic Schnitger organs in the world today.

  • very authentic. What kind of computer would be cheap but works well with kind of program, my computer is new but wont let me use hauptwerk.

  • Hauptwerk can run on pretty much any computer, Windows or OS X. It was originally developed using older Pentium III and IV processors. What type of computer have you tried it on? If you do not have a MIDI or audio device connected it will not run, however the computer itself, especially if newer should be able to run Hauptwerk and most of the available orgns without problems.

  • well i have miditzer and b4 and they both work. Miditzer is the trial version. and b4 is an actual bought cd. But when i try the hauptwerk trial organ, it says that "this program is not a valid win32 application" And if I get it to download somehow, i will install it, and when I start the organ, it says that there was an error and it wont even load up, it just closes the box. i have a midi keyboard

  • Perhaps a corrupted installation. What version of Hauptwerk are you trying to install? What version of Windows are you running? Please feel free to contact me via email and I will be happy to assist you in getting Hauptwerk running on your computer. You can visit our website and use the contact page to email us.

  • well that is what it says each time. The version is the free one that I think it is the EM skinner. I have windows vista. I am going to try my laptop first

  • You will need to have a MIDI device attached to the laptop otherwise Hauptwerk will not run. Again, please contact me via email if you require any further advice. Thank you.

  • it's like bach's ghost is playing

  • This is not a modern instrument, so why do you care about samples of nonexisting pipes? Who needs them? Of course, you can tune those notes from existing ones, however, Schnitger with 5 octave manuals and 32 notes pedal - it's ridiculous! It's like a person sitting in car on van Eyck's painting.

  • @organista1020, to jest II koncert organowy J. S. Bacha a-moll, BWV 593, który jest transkrypcją koncertu na dwoje skrzypiec A. Vivaldiego Op. 3 No 6. P

  • co to za utwór??

  • @polsterj For that you need a good soundcard with MIDI connections and software like hauptwerk, jorgan or miditzer. jOrgan and miditzer are free as far as I know.

  • Can anyone please tell me where to find good organs for jorgan and hauptwerk!

  • What exactly do you need for a Virtual organ? I have a Keyboard with USB and a Pedalboard and a Clavinova with MIDI. How do you connect the MIDI with the computer?

  • They couldn't improve on the schnitger sound so they just made them "different" and louder.

  • Why didn't they sampled the Schnitger organ of St. Jacobi church instead??

  • I know which organ this is, its close to Hamburg airport isn't it? Where they had that dispute over the extension of the runway?

  • This performance seems to me...to be without bite and snap...

is it the sample sound or the player's attack? Is this compressed? I'm coming back to this tomorrow for another listen.
