Actually this is the more recent version of Blade.

The Wesley Snipes version looked like the 90s version of Blade, only with a trench coat and not a motorcycle jacket.

Both the anime look and the Snipes look are fairly close to the eras they're based on.

It's called "stylism and design". It's just the artists of this series, IMO, just simply did not looked for the right formula.

and what about the spider man series? True they are not anime in general but they are similar to this cartoon regardless.
