Illegal Immigration and Asylum Seeker Pro-Social Ad

A work in progress animation I started at college for an MTV-based brief to promote greater social understanding towards immigrants and asylum seekers. Post 9-11 there was a lot of furore in the right-wing UK press about rising numbers of immigrants and asylum seekers. Jingoistic headlines like 'ENGLAND OVERRUN' & 'ASYLUM CHAOS' stirred up public fear and mistrust and matters weren't made any better with the ricin and anthrax scares disseminated in the news. While there will always be a rogue element in every walk of life, my short was designed to get people to think twice before listening to the hype and condemning all asylum seekers. While some are no doubt bogus, there is a high percentage of real refugees from real oppressions that have a human right to our help.
The animation was intended to be done in Flash, but due to limited resources at college, I had to animate it in photoshop and premiere. The result is quite slapdash but there is the seed of a good idea in there somewhere! :)

I hope someday uk gov will make less harsher and unwelcoming to illegal emergents coming into the uk the paths are NOT paved in gold and nor is britain full of hope so I know what is here for people whom illegally come here because its harsher and harder to find work and u only get pence here too so why come because uk people most people that is have not got time at all for such people anymore

@DanielR305 The paths were never paved with gold. A lot of us here, including myself, have to work shit jobs to pay our way. It's not fair some people native AND foreign get free rides when they're capable of work. Yes, the jobs are hard to find, but the welfare state has become a joke. This will only get worse under Cameron/Clegg. I made this video 6 years ago and nothing's changed for the better.

I take your point, but my film was to promote pro-social tolerance. We're stuck with the situation I'm afraid and it's not the fault of immigration but corporacy and greed. When I was young, rush hour was 8am till 9, now it starts at 7 and lasts all day. We've become a money-making machine,the immigrants want a piece of it and it's the fat cats who rub their hands at the thought of a cheaper labour force.

Their own countries don't want them because they are scum and they'll do nothing to benefit the UK. We are far too soft and instead of sending our armies all over the world they should be patrolling our borders stopping them coming in! God, no wonder so many people want to get out of the EEC.
