Visionary Panel: Success Stories in Faith-Based Real Estate Development, Part 6 of 6
Brooklyn's churches, synagogues, temples and mosques are anchors in their communities. Many play, or have the potential to play, an active role in community revitalization, often as landowners. In organizing this half-day conference, however, it was BEDC's goal to assist religious institutions in their efforts to improve their neighborhoods in a manner that will serve both themselves and the greater community. The conference provided practical instruction on topics such as forming local development corporations to facilitate revitalization efforts, navigating real estate transactions, and planning for contextual neighborhood development.
