President Obama is coming to Macon, Missouri to talk to Main Street. Instead of talking we decided to listen to Main Street and the people of Macon. What we heard was they don't want more politicians deciding what's best for them, like President Obama and Robin Carnahan, but someone who will listen and stand up for Missouri, advocate for the needs of Main Street, and that person is Roy Blunt.
How come Blunt doesn't answer questions?

this film was so short because they all had to run to Wal-Mart before it closed....seriously, if you're from Macon or any small town in America and you really wanna see change happen : BOYCOTT WALMART (if you shop there or any other huge chainstore you may as well hand your money directly to Satan himself) and how many people travel to bigger towns to shop? might wanna think about leading by example before you start blaming your problems on everyone else.....shop locally!

@bigbrotherhal9000 You want the man who is President who has done such a great job running the flooding in Nashville and the oil leak in the GOM running your healthcare. And thats if you can get him away from greeting basketball teams, having party nights at the WH and off the golf course. Obama could care less about you hillbilly!

@dkkght46 You're a moron. You've obviously never been to Macon because it's been exactly like it is now for decades. Your conservative heroes have done NOTHING to help the people of Macon and there'd be no need for hope or change if they hadn't ran this country's economy into the ground in the first place. The worst thing you can say about Obama is that he hasn't been able to dig us out of the hole we were already in thanks to the economic policies of some of your heroes.

I've been to Macon many times and there's never been shit there. Blunt can shift the blame if he likes but Macon was hurting long before Obama became president and in large part due to decisions his buddies have made in the past. People in Macon are delusional if they think Roy Blunt is gonna give a rat's ass what happens to Macon if he's elected.

I am the American People. I have been demanding health care reform for the past 10 years. George Bush never listened to me. Barack Obama listened to me. Now I have affordable health insurance and the uncontrolled rising costs of medicine and insurance are no longer bankrupting me. Thanks Barack Obama. Suckit Roy Blunt.

Hey Roy, how about we stop blaming Barack Obama for all of the problems that George W.M.D. Bush created?

This vid makes me sick. Walmart killed downtown USA. Well next time I'm at walmart and see one of these people I will ask why they are not shopping downtown!

Tobihouhou--Great comments. Agree completely. I grew up in Macon and it has been in a sorry state for over 30 years. Most people choose to stay for generation after generation. My high school class of around 115 has less than 50% college grad rates. This has nothing to do with Obama, or President Bush, or any other politician. You hit the nail on the head with the impact WalMart had on the community. Two major coals mines closing put the nail in the coffin.

The downtown of Macon has been going since the time of Temple Stephen grocery leaving Vine Street. As a child, I remember everyone circling the downtown again and again with a bar on every corner for something to do. The downtown movie house vanished in the 1960's. It is surprising Obama would point out a place like my birthplace. Terribly sad situation. I think it unfair to Obama or anyone else to explain the death of small town USA.
