You know, some black people were classy back then. Maybe not rich. But they still found a way to be elegant and that was during the time of jazz and blues. And really, it's more of the intent than saying nigger or niggah that makes it racist. And I'm black. Instead of calling each other that word, why not just say African-Americans. Sheesh. I speak Russian also and there is a word "negr" which means a black person, because there is no other word in russian for blacks, so are all russians racist? What does classy mean? Elegant maybe? How can something poor can be in any way elegant? Imagine a bar or club in 30's (a real one) full of blacks and now say that it is classy in any way. You are not getting the point.
