1958 Gibson ES 5 through a 1966 Princeton Reverb. Still learning my way around the ES 5 and trying to play this tune with more feel and groove.

  • nice touch! Enjoyed your playing very much!

  • @SJBluzman - Anson is the nicest guy in the world. This is actually a CD for charity, and he's helping out. Anyways, thanks again for the video. I'm going to try to learn the tune and post a video reply once I can pull it off. :)

  • @strathound -- Wow, you run with the Big Dogs! I am just a little guitar/blues geek from SJ. I opened for Anson once when he played JJ's Blues in San Jose. He was there with Sam when he was alive. Sam was actually pretty nasty, but Anson was great -- we talked guitars, amps, influences etc after his show. He was as nice as could be. One of my true heroes!

  • @SJBluzman - Cool man, you're just our type of fellow. I'm actually working on a CD with Anson right now. It's also got Gentleman John Street on keys, Hash Brown on harp, guitar and vocals, and a host of others. Good times.

  • @strathound Hey, thanks. That sounds just like my cup of tea. I am a HUGE fan of Texas blues -- particularly T-Bone, T-Birds, Anson, Derek O'Brien, etc. I will definitely check out your site and thanks for the invite!

  • Well, I tried to invite you out to the Roadhouse, but they are blocking URLs. So if you Google for "Texas Blues Roadhouse", you'll find our Ning website devoted to blues, especially the Texas kind. We'd love to have to stop by from time to time whenever you have any new videos to share, or if you just want to talk blues. Thanks again for the video.

  • @strathound -- Great! Thanks for the kind words. I looked all over to try and learn this song and basically had to watch a whole bunch of videos by other people to learn the various parts. I figured it might help someone else trying to learn this tune if I put it all together in one video that was easy to see. I love Fats, too. He was a monster. Glad this helped you -- made my day. Like your name, too!
