This is my 1st tenminmix. I've only been dj'ing for a short while. Please comment. Any advice is welcome.
I'm using the Xponent from M-Audio and the Torq program on an ASUS G1 laptop....
Track List is on the video.

  • I'll Probably end up getting one with a MacBook Pro 17''

  • @Broodjehawai Thanks for the tip! I usually always do that when it's someone other than the bride or groom, but since it's their big day (and usually they're the one's paying me), I try to give them the best customer service possible, and yes it does sometimes conflict with what I originally had in plan for a mix and it's something that I'm still figuring out a balance for :-) I definitely know not to rush a mix, being a musician too I realize people want to enjoy the music, not just mixing lol

  • where did you get the versions of the songs that you used in this mix? feel free to send me a message if that's more legal than posting on YouTube haha.

  • @djstoltz2000

    I can give you 1 tip/ hint.

Im DJín for quite some years. and if someone asks you for a number.

try to delay it with one or two songs. also say that to them yeah i will turn it after the next song or something like that. they will keep dancing on the floor. and will go insane if there number comes on.

Just a tip/hint when your dance floor is not so ful just yet. and always take your time when you mix. rushing will cause faults!

    Cya

  • @broodjehawai1 Sometimes it does come in handy at mobile gigs - like if the bride requests a song and you have 10-15 seconds left until the current song is over, for a mix set though then yeah I agree but a mobile crowd won't know the difference :-)

  • how did you get the buttons to stop flashing with the beat? i hate that feature of xponent but i dont know how to make it stop hahah
