FBI halts anti-Muslim training

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has said it has discontinued a lecture that taught counter-terrorism agents that mainstream Muslims were violent.

The move comes after leaked documents revealed the controversial elements in the FBI's training manuals.

According to the FBI documents: most American Muslims are likely to be sympathizers to "terrorist" groups like al-Qaeda.

Spencer Ackerman, the journalist who broke this story for the website Wired dot com, told Al-Jazeera why the FBI teachings are "constitutionally dicey".

"There is still a real ignorance and to some degree a real fear of Islam that has found a surprising home in the FBI," he said.

"If they spend their time and resources going after indicators of violent behavior based on the amount of religiosity a person displays, then first of all they are not going to get actual terrorists, but innocent people."

@gringoroko You are making a huge logical fallacy by stating that you can be an Islam terrorist, but not a Christian terrorist. There is no point in arguing with you if you cannot realize that all religions can be asked by their followers into something they are not. Islam is a more prominent example, however, there are many Christians who follow illogical teachings from the bible. Which ill remind you, it is very similar to the Quran.

It is not islamophobic to point out to these fundamental aspects of Islam because they are the source of islamic terrorism nowadays. The very fact that you deny that Islam is violent doesn't make it more peaceful. Living in a state of a denial will make things only worse.

Being an Islamophob and right wing extremist is one thing, being Christian terrorist is another. From the former doesn't follow the latter. If he was a practicing Christian and if some of the tenets of the faith taught to destroy wicked people, then yes u would be right, he would have been a fundamentalist Christian terrorist. Unfortunately, neither is he a Christian nor there are teachings in the Gospel which encourage or justify violence of any kind. Sorry.
