In January 2010 James Morrison started working with the team at Schagerl in Austria to create a new line of instruments, the work continues but the big news is that the new 'James Morrison Academica Series' trumpets are complete and just fantastic!

On March 10th, 2011, James visited Wesley College in Perth, WA to answer some long awaited questions about his new 'Academica' Series. We were very lucky to have James demonstrate these new trumpets and play some fabulous music for his audience.

There are two JM Academica trumpet models (JM1 and JM2) that are both available in Lacquer or Silver plate. The JM1 is a lighter, brighter horn that suits jazz and lead work. The JM2 is heavier and a little darker in sound, more for orchestral work. Both of them have superb response and are very 'free blowing'.

The 'Academica' trombone is on its way! So stay tuned!

For more information about these horns, please call Shannon Puig - Education Co-ordinator (Trumpet Player) and Band and Orchestral Specialist at Sound Centre Music Education on (08) 9370 1185 or education@soundcentre.com.au
