Wow you need sand...so when he molts her can dig his spot under the sand not the gravel it's bad for him...trying to help your poor thing out :)

also, i doubt it was washed up on the beach, it was just living. I wish people would leave them alone - they are not meant 2 be pets. You need the proper temp. and humidity and moulting is difficult. aww
