I love comfrey fritters - yummmmmm! 3 free range home grown eggs, bit of milk, salt, pepper and flower to make a batter with 5 big comfrey leaves finely chopped. Mix and shallow fry in olive oil. Yummmmm!

can't understand why you'd want to take comfrey out from under an apple tree... they are perfect companions. Not to mention you are injuring the roots of the shallow rooted apple at peak fruiting time. Comfrey is a powerful ally to that tree, you should have left it

Oh no! I am looking for just what you are getting rid of,I want it for a large poultice for my husbands cancer and to eat for the both of us, the government has told everyone it is toxic, but that is a lot of rubbish, I have eaten it for years and my liver is perfect,(tested) does anyone know where I can get some, already grown, here in Australia? Help!please

Oh, that's entirely different, so glad you took it with you. I have organic gardening friends who have grand patches of it, so it's where I sourced my own. For chickens, also rhubarb is also a self medication for them, they nip at the leaves, which are completely bad for people. Thanks for replying!
This is funny, you guys are digging it out, while I'm planting comfrey. My chickens eat the leaves as a form of self medication. It's fantastic for salves and balms yes? Why don't you want it around? Just curious

we dug some up before we moved to take with us and replant in our new home. unfortunately, it didn't survive the move very well. but it's pretty easy to grow i hear. i've also heard it's great fodder for chickens.
