24 Hand Methods
The 24 hand methods are described by 24 single Chinese characters. Some of the hand methods are defensive only. Some are offensive only. Some may be both offensive and defensive. The 24 characters together are called a boxing song or poem. The four characters together form a sentence. There are 6 sentences in total.
Sentence I: Cover (Pu), Climb (Pa), Lift (Qi), Press (An)
Sentence II: Cloud (Yun), Guide (Dai), Hook (Diao), Snatch (Kou)
Sentence III: Intercept (Lan), Swing (Guan), Rise (Ti), Circle (Huan)
Sentence IV: Plant (Cha), Upward (Liao), Separate (Fen), Uphold (Peng)
Sentence V: Stagger (Die), Extend (Zhan), Upward (Tiao), Slide (Hua)
Sentence VI: Pierce (Ci), Fan (Shan), Roll (Yao), Penetrate (Chuan)

Thanks so much for the instruction which summarizes the hand movements; we have not been so taught and sometimes we are lost in the vastness of the sea of Baji teaching materials ! One question: can these 24 hand movements form a set or are they a set already ?
