My northern pike decided to eat my largemouth bass. Caught it all on video.

Edit: Yes, he finished up the bass. He was able to get it all down. I took some pictures of him while he was munching away and one of him after he finished it.

The basses were bought at a store called "Forest Lake Pet Store". There are also other local fishes such as walleyes, small mouth basses, perches, northerns, muskies, etc.

The northern was in the tank with the bass for couple of months before the incident. I was sitting at the computer when I heard "the chase" and by that time, it was too late. I currently feed him medium sized suckers and feeder goldfishes.

Tank size is a 75 Gallon tank.

  • And people wonder why they can't catch a record Pike or Musky on a 12 inch lure. You want big fish, you need big bait. This bass over over half the size of that pike and he ate it. Imagine the size of walleye, bass and other pike trophy size fish must eat in a lake.

  • Ahahahhahaha! I love pikes and there delightful gluttony :D

  • Thumbs up if The Sword in the Stone brought you here.

Hehe... its actually quite lucky none of these fish fight back. I mean, even a huge 40lbs pike, which could theoretically kill you, will just sit there if you get a hold of it. Absolutely no instinct to bite for any other reason than eating.

  • @ultamitefacebookuser k when when you kill a 6 foot vampire u can come talk 2 me

  • That bass was way to big for that pike to swallow. Not happening.

  • You'd THINK that. You'd be amazed at how far they can expand.

  • They're babies and this IS life. Kinda sucks from a Sports Fisher-Womans perspective. I'd much rather see the pike eating panfish. lol. But its still biologically neat.
