Garfield has been my favorite cartoon since I was a kid, and after watching this, I just died a little. It was so depressing. It broke my heart seeing Jon like that.

Nice touch with the Yamaoka song. Although, I would think that "Acceptance" from the Shattered Memories soundtrack would have been a much better match for the strange, wasted, lonely life of one Jon Arbuckle.

I think Garfield minus Garfield just underlines the whole point of Garfield. Jon is basically alone with his thoughts and in general, I mean he talks to his cat and dog. Not unlike many of us I believe. So erasing those two characters just forces one to see what's really going on. And I really don't mean it in a bad way, thumbs up! This must be one of the most brilliant cartoons ever - with or without Garfield and the others. That's life at it's worst and that's life at it's most beautiful times
