This is a tribute to the thousands of volunteers that have given their time, effort, and resources to help the people on the Mississippi Gulf Coast recover from the devastation brought by Hurricane Katrina. With over four years passed, there is still much to do .. more homes to build and many lives to knit back together. The song was written to tell the story of Katrina, the angst of the people, and the response of the volunteers ... we believe called out by God to come to their aid
The song, Mississippi Katrina Blues was written by Charley Elgin, of Pathfinder Mission and set to music and sung by Mitch Reed, a volunteer from High Desert Church in Victorville, CA.
I love the song!
