When the show was repeated on Granada Plus, I taped hundreds of Annie era episodes and I still watch them today.
Annie's snobbishness could be funny or annoying, and the character could be sensitive or insensitive. She was a very rounded character. I remember one episode, when her son Billy told her he never wanted to see her again. Annie was devastated and Doris' acting was terrific. I felt so sorry for Annie - I actually cried!
Doris was a brilliant actress and Annie is a Street legend.

Bill Roache is so handsome, and he gets better with age. I love that his sons are with him on Corrie I'm in the USA, and I only know Linus from L&O. It was a shock to hear him speaking with an MaNCHESTER ACCENT.
