Michael Johnathon plays the banjo solo near Henry David Thoreau's cabin site in Walden Woods. That's a specially designed Vega long neck banjo modeled after Pete Seeger's banjo, made by Greg Deering. The clip is from the closing credits of the film, 'Walden: the Ballad of Thoreau"

  • great sound on that banjo and nice arrangement of the tune. good job..

  • A sweet tone is great.

The banjo of a long neck and a black head are great.

    Beautiful wonderful performance!

  • Somewhere in Heaven Beethoven is having the time of his death, reveling in this version to no end amen!

  • @Rev1981 - Close on that Earl Hickey favorin' but a real draw between that dualin banjo kid from 'Deliverance', ain't it?

    (just kiddin')

  • Loev this song and banjo. He kinda reminds me of Earl Hickey from the show "My name is Earl".

  • Very very nice, I am really wanting one of these long necks after days of listening to traditional folk. Mark

  • Pete Seeger is one of my heros, I think Michael is like a modern Pete Seeger. Love the show.

  • @G1le It's called a Seeger Strum.

  • nicely done...a good mix of techniques ;o)
