How long would the pain relief from this technic be expected to last?
-
actually it doesn't sting and needles are NOT USED.
We use cotton tipped applicators that are dipped into an anesthetic. When the applicator is inserted into the nose correctly, the eye will produce a tear which indicates that it is in the right spot.

"It stings..." Of course it stings...it's needles in your nose..

Now I am interested in SPG. Would you tell me why this patient with fibrobyalgia responded to SPG?

This is an individual response situation. Some patients will have beneficial responses lasting many days. Some require frequent tratments. The treatments are cumulative and occassional patient requires no treatment for many months. The problem is that if the event that triggers the fibromyalgia recurs so does the typical pain features. You can only determine this by treating the whole patient . Not merely the SPG blocks. J S OLIN MD
