MIA- Paper Planes FIASCO! (Perth, Big Day Out, 2011)

So, MIA was about to perform 'Paper Planes' but her mic was cut out! And eventually the lights too... they were off for a few minutes while angry punters threw whatever they could find (even ripping up turf, lol) at the stage. Unfortunately I only managed to film the tail end of people throwing stuff at the stage. It was so interesting to watch I forget to record, haha. Eventually MIA comes back on stage to mime the song, only to be ushered off stage by security grrr.

damn...missed the turf throwing :( hahah i only watched till after she sung bamboo banga and then me and my freinds ran... i mean RAN to PNAU haha so embarrassing. but glad that we saw PNAU cos they were awesomeeee !! :D:D

it costs $50 000 every 5 minutes that goes past 11 pm to the council because of noise restrictions and she went over

When she came back and started to perform a capella, why was she ushered off stage? The could have let her perform the song and that wouldn't have interfered with the noise restrictions. The situation was dealt with poorly.

If MIA hadn't played 15mins of pre recorded nonsense she might have been able to finish the set.

We pay money to see her live not listen to a CD >_<

@molfie Out in punter land... it wasn't bottle definately a glass. I was on stage all day..punters are able too sneak all sorts of shit in...even drugS ????hahahhaha, if the sniffa dogs dont get em first.. any way, it clipped the side of head and he fucked off real quick too get it seen too. Funniest part of the day was watching the turf gettin flung arouynd during Bloody beetroots..as for the dude in the beach ball he was doing fine unit he reached the front corner..

OMG by the looks of it....i missed HEAPS. I left after tool after getting a bottle to the back of my head, getting crushed in the mosh and sand in my eyes...i was done for the night.

But by the looks of this video, i should have hung around! People only know her for Paper Planes anyway and they failed so hard i don't know where to start! haha

@dardzcunt @dardzcunt $50,000? I don't think so.. Melbournes organisers were fined around $5500 for two breaches in allowable sound levels. Either way.. Big Day Out can afford to "put on a good show" after paying $2,000,000 for Rammstein's performance.
