GREEK TARAMASALATA

1 Large French bread
1/2 Large Yellow onion
6 oz Tarama caviar
6 oz lb Cream Cheese
1 cups Olga Greek Extra virgin Olive oil (avail at www.greekfoodandwine.com)
1/4 cup Lemon juice

Trim crust from bread. Make bread crumbs from the bread in the food processor. Add onion. Chop. Add Tarama, and lemon juice. Mix well. Add cream cheese a bit at a time until mixed well. While processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil. Stop, scrape sides, and restart. Mix well until texture is smooth and creamy.

  • WTF ??? im Greek,i live in Greece...we NEVER use cream cheese in Taramosalata !!! Oil,bread and tarama !!!

  • i tried this once with bread &it tasted like crap the best way to make it the way this greek lady taught me is with potatoes not bread ..... i wouldn't eat that if i was starving full of sh.t

  • cream cheese in taramasalata o.m.g! I salt then smoke gemfish roe tskin it then wizz with oinions and a bit of garlic add lemon juice and 1/2 grape seed oil and e.v.o.oil and (optional) milk soaked bread inners squeezed out season. ???????? is he a american greek????

  • they dont have cream-cheese in greece.nor carp roe.what they use,is a grey mullet caviar.your muck will probably tastes like new york cheesecake

  • Can you make a video of taramasalata without the creamcheese? For fasting? I've never seen this recipe before, but I'm still gonna try it....looks really good!
