13 Year Old Flag Boy Gets Parade and Apology

13-year-old Cody Alicea, aka "Flag Boy" just wanted to fly the flag on his bike. This morning, about a hundred people, including some coming in from the East Coast escorted Cody to school.

After arriving at Denair Middle School the group recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem.

The teen who was told to remove the American flag from his bike the week of Veterans Day is now back proudly carrying Old Glory, with the blessing of his apologetic school district.

There should not be a question for Cody's safety. If people from mexico are offended, pack your bags and move back to mexico, and don't give that excuse that land of this great nation was stolen. The boundaries, and laws of the Unites States of America are established. Get Over It....!!

@cousincrazy5 Well, it sounds like he took the wrong approach. Instead of suspending the kids for harrassment or signs of violent intent, WHICH you must have been sure of to even bring it up to Cody in the first place, you went to Cody and told him to betray his beliefs in YOUR country because you couldn't properly handle a problem in your own school. Pft, I'd be happy to take a beating if instead of selling myself out for any reason. Cody and your community saw a smarter alternative though.

@imbethondion lol yeah because the poor huddled masses used to be white. However people are against illegal immigration, not legal immigration. I personally believe that immigration should be limited to a certain number because of the prospect of racial tensions rising. When it gets to about 50/50 of whites and Mexicans then violence will occur. It's happened in other countries. That's how you get genocide so you have to be careful.

I am anti-war and I think it we should have a Ron Paul style foreign policy BUT I don't give a flying shit what people think of our flag outside of the U.S. These flags are in the U.S and not in Iraq or Afghanistan. No American should be restricted in flying the flag in his/her country. We have the freedom to fly whatever flag we'd like to here and that's how it should be. NO CENSORSHIP!

Hey if any of u guys are mad at our campus supervisor for making him take the Flag down he had a good reason for it I know Cody and our campus supervisor and they are both really nice so this thing isn't as big of a deal as everyone thinks it is. If the supervisor wouldn't hav told Cody to take down the flag for the day Cody would hav been beaten up by other kids.
