RetroPlay: Game Waklthroughs
Castlevania Symphony of the Night

In this segment, Alucard heads through what I consider to be the most annoying portion of the early game of SotN; The Underground Caverns.
I consider this place annoying because of all the Spearmen and Bone Archers scattered about, as well as the frogs and toads.
After going through a portion of the caverns he runs into Scylla, who caused the water to raise in the caverns after Alucard entered it.
Once she's dealt with and Alucard can leave the area, he continues through the Caverns and meets up with a creepy ferryman, who escorts him to a small area where the Mermaid Statue sits.
Once obtaining the statue, Alucard goes back and opens up the path to the Underground Caverns from the Entrance. He then heads back through the Alchemy Laboratory and through another locked door, thanks to the Jewel of Open we bought from the Librarian, after which we run into Maria again.
After a quick conversation, Alucard enters into the Royal Chapel.
I must admit, the most annoying boss in the game in my opinion, has got to be Scylla. I consider her annoying simply because she just has so many attacks going at you at once, and it makes it hard for me to keep up, as you can see in this video (of course me not playing SotN in almost a year plays a part of it also).
There is a cheap way to defeat Scylla, however which I didn't show in this video. If you look on the left, behind Scylla, you'll notice there's an empty spot behind her, if you can get hit by one of the stones that she causes to fall from the ceiling while facing right and while you are in the air, it will knock you on the ledge where you can quickly backslide and reach it. Once you're there you can practically just sit there and lay into her without worrying about any damage. Since I'm not fond of using cheap tactics, I fight her normally (and pitifully too I might add...I hate this boss, lol).
One plus, though, as I am going through the frozen section of the caverns, before the Ferryman, one of the Frozen Shades drops an Ice Mail. So that more than made up for the annoyance of this segment.
In the next segment, I'll be going through the Royal Chapel, and obtaining the Leap Stone, then the real fun starts.
Did you turn off Faerie Scroll because you wanted to see when the zombies where rising at 8:50

Yeah, that's one of the annoying things about the Faerie Scroll in that area, neat little trick if you want to speed through it when you don't have the Wolf Form's dash attack.
