Just a quick stop-motion animation I did with some extra film after shooting a regular project with a Bolex camera; 16mm film, black and white, no sound. Not trying to break any boundaries here, just experimenting a bit.

  • Very nice work. Now a story to go with that animation would be way cool.

  • @WBShepherd Well it WAS just practice after all... but thank you :-)

  • Do you need to adjust exposure any during stop motion?

  • No, but at the time I was told to set the frame rate as high as possible (64 fps on a bolex) and adjust the exposure accordingly. The flicker, as I eventually found out, was unavoidable without a specialized setup... so while an interesting experiment, it seems much more worthy of the effort to just go digital.

  • Haha! That's well done! Good animation! A nice simple story. Keep it up!

  • Then you're on your way to Carnegie Hall; 'cuz practice is the best way to there. :)

  • The Film makes it look awesome.

  • Nice, how many f stops do you need to move if your filming at 64 fps, or 48 fps?

  • :D Epix

  • very nice loved it!
