Garbey was pound-for-pound the best boxer on the Team Freedom team made of expatriates Jorge Luis Gonzalez, Joel Casamayor, Diobelys Hurtado, Eliecer and Eliseo Castllo. He just didn't have the ambition to become champion. By the time he'd had 15 pro bouts, he had all the skill, stamina, power, etc. to be 190 lb. champion. He just allowed himself to lose to boxers like Napoleon Tagoe, who didn't have the skills that he had.
