Short video clip of several small gold nuggets dug from the same hole. I was using the Minelab GPX-4500 Metal Detector and Coiltek 14-inch Goldstalker Searchcoil.

  • i'm dying to go try this on vacation this year or next. can anyone give some advice on how to get map of the area...? i've heard of the brandshaw mtn area before, but any advice on equip & prep would be helpful. can't wait...cool vid

  • @MrAnthony78666 Hello, the best bet might be to join a local prospecting club in Arizona, such as the Roadrunners Prospecting Club or even the GPAA. They will have claim maps to all their claims within the State. There are a lot of books and publications, along with the Internet for research. The Bradshaw Mountain Range is huge, with gold being found all through it. That being said, a good portion of the gold bearing areas are under federal mineral claim(s).

  • what is the average depth this detector can detect things into?

  • @abureyad100 Hello, the average depth depends on the size of the target being detected. Larger targets, such as cans can be detected much deeper than smaller gold nuggets or say a coin. Overall average with a Minelab PI will be anywhere from the surface down to realistically 2 - 2 1/2 foot in depth. A big target can be heard deeper with a larger coil and the right settings. Hope this helped.

Hello, these videos are for education & entertainment purposes. I have no need to plant nuggets when I have found thousands over the years. I forgot, that I have seen ads on TV, hear them on the Radio and see them on the Internet all day, but, I guess, it's because they are not trying to selling anything .... right? :)

  • Isn't that 4500 pretty expensive? You'd have to be fairly well-off-to-do or a real dedicated prospector to buy this or the 5000. Most of us can only afford the GMT or Fisher.

  • What would you consider to be a wash? A low level area below a mountain range where lots of stone deposits have been washed down to possibly?

  • Say, I was thinking of bringing along a metal detector for my trip to South America this spring, but I wonder first off if I can fit it in my luggage, if I will be allowed to bring it and lastly is it worth it cause it might get dammaged, unless they will let me bring it on as a carry on. I am in Canada and will be going to Peru area close to where mining is going on. I know a remote village where friends live and am thinking of prospecting there for fun! What would you advise? Thanks!
