I'm glad the Sega Fusion emulator supports save states, otherwise I would have given up on this game way before getting to this stage - the sparsity of proper save points in this game is incredibly punishing, especially on these later stages where the levels seem very long and the enemy AI get particularly annoying, all before you've even got to the boss. In many ways I think this game is a step backwards from the great Wonderboy in Monster World. Shame really, I do really want to like it...
