yep, heard this idea before...

1) such technology is used by a couple of people at the end of Robert J Sawyers book "FlashForward" (yeah I know, the series is crap - but the book is excellent)

2) most of the Greys (the little fellas with the huge heads and their cool rayban goggles) are said to be such hybrid creatures with implanted chips and stuff - can be remote controlled...(no, not by us)
