What OS are you running on the system? Is this just a standard Windows box or are you building it out as a true storage system with something like Openfiler?

yeah going that route would save ALOT of money. and brings redundancy to the table

@bmw2go11 Cat6 has no advantage over Cat5e in ethernet.

10GbE is still well outside practical use in a home/medium business environment.

For extra speed I would use LACP.

Are you using Raid 6 with a hotswap? why is it that you have 3 non usable disks?

Now using 4TB drives you only need 6 drives

@fprecoiil well dont be mistaken...kapitalism is a bitch...they can just hold out on hardware just to max their profits....so dont be to optimistic about hardware fabricators
