@TorgeistLLN so true, this is the perfect era of the cure
-
the best period of Cure: Simon hates Robert, Robert hates Simon, Lol is hyponotic
no concession, no commercial, only fuck music for masses
-
no matter what, The Cure will ALWAYS be the best band on earth, at least to me <33

Agree, Tolhurst was such a good drummer, he should have stayed on drums................

I get a charge out of watching this video and listening to this version. It's nearly as good as the album version, certainly more atmospheric.

The best gig I have ever seen was this lot in Lille in 1981, a few months before this was made. Brings it all back. Having said that Magazine (newly reformed after 28 years) in Oxford on 10 Feb 09 comes very close!

What what?
I am never going to get tired of this...even when I am a hundred years old living in my rest home I am going to be pumping the Cure through my stereo during my 11:00 a.m. sponge bath or tube feeding. These guys are timeless

I tell you, Lol Tolhurst was a seriously underrated drummer. He had this simple, hypnotic style of drumming, very tribal. Reminiscient of Can's Jaki Liebezeit. It was a perfect fit for the band with Simon's simple, but memorable basslines and Robert's demented lyrics.
