  • No, trailer trash doesn't look this good, she just has that '80's big hair look going on. She was always in conflict with her record company over how they wanted her to look and sound, she just did what she wanted. Good for her!

  • Legend has it that Shelby was an unknown singer when she made her first appearance on "Nashville Now" (yes, that was possible back then). The next morning, Shelby had offers from 3 different record labels. It's a terrible shame she wasn't a bigger star. A HUGE talent.

  • If it didn't happen exactly that way, it was pretty darn close. Thanks for much for your comment.

  • A 19 year old, genius, rebel who gave mainstream country music a much needed kick in the ass. It's so sad that we have Carrie Underwood and the likes, today. No wonder Shelby left Nashville.

  • I was working as a disk jockey back home in PA when Shelby came out. I was a high school senior when "If I Could Bottle This Up" came out, and then her debut album "Sunrise," and I remember how excited I was about her and how amazing she sounded, and I just knew she wasn't gonna be any fly-by-nighter. Her genius could not be denied. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your great comment!

  • Shelby Lynne was the BEST female country singer of the 1990's who was simply "too good" to make it in the cookie-cutter world of Nashville. She's the real deal and can sing circles around any of today's manufactured barbie dolls running around Nashville.

  • This brings back some good memories of both Nashville Now and the appearances Shelby Lynne made on that show. I'm still upset that we no longer have TNN on cable. Does anyone watch the Gaylord channel that replaced it? If I could avoid subscribing to it, I would.

  • By 80s standards it was perfect hair. A business suit and some shoulder pads and they could have put her on Dynasty LOL

  • i was named after her ! (: eh , she's ok. my mom LOVED her.

  • You just don't expect that big deep voice to come out of her!! It looks so wrong but SHE is soooo right!!! I love her!!

  • @MyMemorableScenes Dude, she *IS* trailer trash. She's as trashy as they come and always was. It doesn't make her any less awesome.

  • sHE IS THE BEST!

  • @elizabeth wilson I am Shelby's 3rd cousin, our grandmothers were sisters. And your thinking is absolutely correct. The best that I remember, Frank did not want to be apart from his family and I think that was one of many reasons that he done what he did.

  • I am Shelby's 3rd cousin, our grandmothers were sisters. And you absolutely correct in your thinking. Frank coud not bear the thought of being without Shelby's mother.

  • Love the pullover from the guy at the chores
