Datsun 280zx Turbo

Here's another update of my Z along with the latest mods i've done with it. I figured once i fixed the exhaust leak from the last video i could post a vid of it actually being driven and what not. Oh and the BOV is really loud (: the turbo is starting to burn oil now :( so thats getting replaced soon, but for now im just doing what i can, no texas emission tests for me (: lmk what you think!!

theres a couple of things you can check about the turbo burning oil,it could have been put on incorrectly the or gasket could be broke none the less it was ran hot way before its break in period.On the other hand it might be just burning rich to the point that it smokes from too much fuel burning without proper tuning an aftermaket ecu should be involved with this cars life good luck with the rest of the time and money you can give to her damn sure more videos need to be seen of this zx

i know for sure it was the turbo, i pulled the intake boot off and checked for shaft play, it had a lot of axial shaft play, since the stock ecu allows it to run rich already, that and the combination of the BOV not being recirculated, the extra fuel hits the hot manifold and pops, that force overtime works on the shaft of the turbo wollowing out the bearing surfaces, soon enough every time it pops, oil seeps past, or when you first load it down taking off from a stop.

i lunched the 3rd/4th gear synchro shifting too hard like a dumbass. the tranny was replaced a long time ago, it finally broke the shift fork and got stuck in 3rd gear :/ lol

@vettemaster86 yes, it is the only way to go lol and yea i have tokico HP shocks in the rear, but the springs are shot :( lol but it still handles very well for shot springs lol

I just bought an 82 280ZX Turbo. How do i get the turbo to blow off that loudly? What kind of blow off valve or waste gate did you put in?
