Game Review: Bokosuka Wars

I first off want to apologize about the Dig Dug II review being crap. I thought it was my worst review. Also I dunno if I am saying the name of this game right, but I have heard it said 2 ways. So If I messed up, I apologize. I hope you enjoy this review. Thanks for watching.

This is a surprisingly deep game that was too ambitious for the time it was created in. Given a chance, there is enjoyment to be had, but players have to know what they are doing or take enough time to learn how to play it properly (neither is the easiest thing to do, particularly since very little useful info was available until the last few years in a FAQ and serious Talkthrough on the matter). It is honestly not even close to the worst game ever, but it is no shiny beacon of greatness either.

In fact, Bokosuka Wars is quite easily one of the better games from 1983. After all, that was the year that E.T. was made, and tons of other crappy games were coming out and caused the video game market crash.

Back in those days, Bokosuka would have been like the Demon's Souls of its day: challenging and rewarding. Today, that means it's unplayable, and we'll probably be saying the same thing about Demon's Souls 25 years from now.

Bokosuka Wars is only bad by today's standards, but if you compare it to most of the games released back then, it's actually one of the better games from that time. In fact, Bokosuka Wars was a big hit in Japan back when it was released in 1983 and laid the foundations for most JRPGs that came after it, specifically the strategy RPG genre. Back in those days, gamers found it a challenging & rewarding experience (like an 8-bit equivalent to Demon's Souls), but it's just aged very badly today.

Aaron dig dug was a better review than this crap of a game... should of just stuck with dig dug and skipped reviewing this game all together... wow horrible thats what comes to mind for this game.. but keep up the good work and have fun at the track

Yea in the Dig Dug II review you sounded like you belonged in the remedial reading class lulz....this one sounded much better! Can't wait to see some of these "Let's Walkthoughs" you mention in almost every video lol...Also hope they have live commentary and not done post recording ;) Keep em coming!!
