Here is a demo of the Crate Power Block ran into a Crate Flexwave Cabinet. I run direct into the front of the PB to show you it's own sound, then into the Line Inputs on the back with my BOSS GT-6. After that, I hook directly in the RCA CD Inputs for an uncolored sound that is the only way to bypass the internal cabinet sim in the PowerBlock... This is the ideal hookup for modeler's according to various sources in the amp modeler communities...

  • I do wonder if you like the patch on the gt-6 called 'high gain' thru the power block set up. I think that the gt-6 is the shit and I am sure the ones that follow it is even better. Am I correct in understanding that you can not use the eqs thru the RCA?? Have a good day

  • It's alright... I dont use anyone elses patches on the GT6... I have about 5 I use and that's about it. I dont have much use for more than a few "all around" tones... Right now my fave amp model on it is Lead Stack with my pre and post EQ setup it just sings with gain for days!

The EQ knobs on the front of the amp dont work for the RCA connections. All those connections do is run clean and at full power. Everything is controlled on the GT6 when hooked up that way... including master volume.

  • Sounds great man. How long have you had it, do these things last? I wanna get one but I'm hesitant cause I hear they break down a lot.

  • I have had it for about a year now. I havent had any problems with my unit at all. The knobs dont scratch, and the unit doesnt overheat like I have also heard of... remember though... some people just treat their gear like shit and blame it on the gear. They were made in China for Crate, but isnt everything else made in China? They are simple and rock solid... I would use this as a backup for a larger more expensive amp if I had one... I'd gig without a backup just using the PB ;)

  • I was also wondering why u Use The Rca Jacks with the Gt-6 Versus the 1/4 Guitar Cable ?

  • Using the CD Input on the back of the amp bypasses the speaker sim circuit that is built into the PB. It is designed to go with the matching "modeling" 1x12's. Using the CD in's gives you a clearer output without the need to totally re-EQ everything to compensate for the built in, nonstoppable speaker sim... The sim is great for plugging out into a mixer or for direct recording... otherwise I would have liked a switch to turn it off...

  • Did I hear kid's voices in the background? Dude, please don't get defensive, but maybe you didn't realize that kids who grow up around second hand smoke end up with a lot more health problems than kids who breath clean air. Please do them a favor and step outside to smoke.
