dude, as far as dishes are concerned do them once a week. But when you do them make sure you get a killer DVD to watch while yer busy scrubbing n rinsing n sh$#. Before you know it yer done and you watched a great movie while you were at it.

This is totally how it goes, too. I've had 3 of my own apartments and all of them hit disgraceful before I...well, actually I didn't do anything about it. I did dishes every 3-4 months.
They're re-usable!! Just build up your immune system.
