  • Thanks for the video, it reiterates what I have recently been taught in college by my tutor. Out of interest what is the liquid you use to check for leaks? Thanks!

  • There are several brand names you could ask for but if you approach any welding supplier and ask for 'leak detector spray', they will be able to supply you.

A word of warning. It used to be common that people used a little shampoo or washing up liquid with water. This is bad practice as to introduce any oil (both of the aforementioned are oil based) can lead to explosion.

If you have any more questions or would like information relating to courses we provide, dont hesitate to get in toutch.

  • When done welding, can I turn off the oxygen first, then the acetylene or does it ABSOLUTELY HAVE to be turned off, acetylene first?

  • ive heard that you turn of oxygen first then acetylene. thats what ive been doing in class. Is there a difference or particular danger to doing it either way?

  • hello . I wonder would you please mind answering a question for me. I have my own set of oxy./acety ,My blue oxygen hose got cut in half last week. (this has happen loads of times over the years at work we normaly put in a brass coloured joiner to repair them) however I have repaired my set with a plastic joiner. I have not used these before . I am just wondering am I am risk of exploding this joiner .similar to if I used plumbers tape putting on the regulator or shampoo on leaks

  • @StokeonTrentCollege
